Scientists at the Alder Molecular Biochemistry Laboratory have identified a previously uncharacterized enzyme involved in regulating oxidative stress responses within human cells. The discovery may improve understanding of how cells adapt to environmental and metabolic stress conditions associated with chronic disease progression.

The research team is now investigating how modulation of the enzyme’s activity could influence inflammatory signaling and mitochondrial stability in degenerative disease models.
